At its February meeting the Board of Regents adopted regulations, effective February 17, 2014, to implement legislation that expanded the scope of practice of podiatry and established requirements for the issuance of podiatric ankle surgery privileges. Podiatrists holding the privileges will be authorized to perform certain procedures they had not previously been authorized to perform. Information about the podiatric ankle surgery privileges, including Podiatric Ankle Surgery Privileges for Podiatry, is now available.
The same legislation also expanded the scope of practice of all podiatrists with respect to the provision of wound care, effective February 17, 2014.
