The New York State Education Department (“SED”) Office of the Professions (“OP”) is alerting everyone to a vishing scam that has been brought to our attention. Phishing—or “vishing”—scams impersonate SED employees or websites attempting to collect licensure and personal information from the licensee. If you receive an inquiry which you believe to be suspicious do not provide any information. To verify if the inquiry was from OP, contact us directly. You may report any suspicious communication received to the Federal Trade Commission.

Continuing Education for Creative Arts Therapist - Providers/Sponsors

Creative Arts Therapy Department Approved Providers

In order to offer continuing education to Licensed Creative Arts Therapists an entity must be approved by the Department, based upon an application, along with the submission of the required fee.

The Department's approval of a provider of continuing education does not constitute the Department's endorsement of the content, positions or practices that may be addressed in any specific continuing education courses offered by the approved provider.

Courses may only be taken on or after January 1, 2017 from a creative arts therapy provider approved by the Department, in order to meet the requirements in law.
