Education

“Units of credit” toward an architect’s license are based on your education and experience. You will need 12 units of combined education and experience for licensure. Your experience requirement will depend on the units granted for your education; generally, at least 3 years of architectural work experience and completion of the Architectural Experience Program™ will be required. Almost 97% of New York's architects have at least a bachelor's degree.
