On August 21, 2017, the Governor signed Chapter 202 of the Laws of 2017 to authorize the Department to issue a limited license to an applicant for a license as a speech-language pathologist. The law does not become effective until February 2018.

Such a license would be available to any person engaging in clinical or academic practice under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist for such period of time as may be necessary to complete an experience requirement for a professional license as a speech-language pathologist. Additional guidance regarding this process will be posted when it becomes available.
