The New York State Education Department (“SED”) Office of the Professions (“OP”) is alerting everyone to a vishing scam that has been brought to our attention. Phishing—or “vishing”—scams impersonate SED employees or websites attempting to collect licensure and personal information from the licensee. If you receive an inquiry which you believe to be suspicious do not provide any information. To verify if the inquiry was from OP, contact us directly. You may report any suspicious communication received to the Federal Trade Commission.

Report to the Legislature Regarding Collaborative Drug Therapy Management (CDTM) Pilot Project pursuant to Chapter 21 of the laws of 2011 now available

The law defined the parameters of practice in which pharmacists and physicians can collaborate in order to attain more effective therapeutic outcomes. CDTM was authorized within the State’s teaching hospitals. The act also requires the Department, in consultation with the Department of Health, to prepare a report to the legislature on the implementation in New York State. The required report has been transmitted to the Governor, Speaker of the Assembly, Senate President pro tem and chairs of the Senate and Assembly Higher Education Committees. (5/13/14)
