Earn Credit for Three Hours of Continuing Education to Meet the 36 Hours of Continuing Education Needed for Triennial Registration

Introduction

As a licensed professional in New York State, it is your professional responsibility to know the laws, rules, and regulations governing the practice of massage therapy and to be alert to changes in those requirements and to be aware of how these apply to your practice.

To help you keep informed about these laws, rules, regulations and standards of practice, the Department has prepared the following self-examination, which can also be used to gain credit for three hours of continuing education to be used once in each triennial registration period. Credited hours may not be carried from one triennial period to another, but the self-examination can be taken once in each triennial period. The questions will be changed at various intervals.

The following 30 questions relate to Education Law, Article 155, Part 78 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, and Part 29 of the Rules of the Board of Regents, as well as the General Information & Policies, the Questions and Answers, the Guidelines for Practice and the Precautions for Massage/Bodywork Therapy found on this website and will provide all the information needed to select a correct response. Select one answer for each question. When you finish, click the "Get Your Score" button and your score will appear (requires that you have Javascript enabled for your browser).

An overall score of 100% is perfect and is needed to obtain three hours of continuing education credit for this examination. For those who have not scored 100%, you will have the ability to review questions and select correct answers. Once you have a score of 100%, print the page showing the score, place your name and date on this page and file it for safekeeping, since you may be asked to provide it to the Department if you are chosen for an audit of continuing education.
