New on the Web

  • Our site now features reports of compliance agreements reached in cases of alleged illegal practice of the professions. This feature, a direct outgrowth of our partnership with the State Attorney General's Office, enhances our efforts to inform the public and professionals and to take action against the unlicensed practice of the professions.

  • The cumulative total of online license verifications has surpassed eight million. In the past year, an average of about 200,000 verifications per month were completed through this service, which debuted in 1997.

  • Podiatry is the latest profession to offer an online self-test of law and practice. This tool allows podiatrists to measure their working knowledge of both general and profession-specific practice requirements; this feature supports our efforts to help professionals avoid actions that could harm clients or lead to misconduct charges.

  • The text of O.P.'s survey of licensed accountants (and related information) is available online. The Office mailed the survey in May to approximately 34,700 currently licensed New York certified public accountants and public accountants, as a means to gain their perspectives on key issues in the profession.
