Frequently Asked Questions
Pharmacist Licensure Exams
- Where do I apply for the Part III compounding exam?
Applicants must apply directly to Castle Worldwide, Inc. by filing an Examination Scheduling Form. That form and additional information is available on their website at www.castleworldwide.com/castests/webdesign/DEFAULTnew_york_state.htm.
Applicants must also file Form 1 - Application for Licensure & First Registration and the $339 registration fee, if they have not already done so.
Both applications must be filed by the appropriate deadlines.
- When I apply for Part III and choose a site for the exam, do I always get the site I want?
No. Although you select a preferred examination site on your Examination Scheduling Form, your selection is not guaranteed. Placement at each test site is based on availability. Once assigned, no changes will occur.
- When and how will I be notified of my test site?
Castle Worldwide, Inc. will send your admission ticket approximately three (3) weeks before you are scheduled to take the examination.

Contact the New York State Division of Professional Licensing Services (DPLS) Pharmacy Exam Unit (Unit 1) at 518-474-3817, ext. 250 or opunit1@mail.nysed.gov.
