Summary: Licensee was found guilty of failing to
adequately respond to a patient who was choking and in severe
respiratory distress Specifically, after assessing the patient,
licensee did not respond adequately by taking steps to alleviate
the patient’s condition. When called to the room by other
staff, licensee indicated that she needed to call someone else
first, and left the patient with staff who were unable by
licensure or policy, to adequately assist the patient.
