Professional Misconduct and Discipline

Professional misconduct by licensed physicians, physician assistants, and specialist assistants is investigated and prosecuted by the Office of Professional Medical Conduct in the New York State Department of Health. Complaints of misconduct in these three professions should be made to the Office of Professional Medical Conduct, New York State Department of Health, 433 River Street, Suite 303, Troy, NY 12180-2299. General Customer Service

The Office of the Professions has an automated customer service system that allows callers to verify licenses, request information, and hear automated messages 24 hours a day. Staff are available from 8:30am to 4:45 pm, Eastern time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
